Briana's party is the 6th. On the 8th, there is yet another birthday party for R to attend, then I'm going to dinner/movie with the women's group. the following weekend, the greek festival is happening which means a yummy meal, and another bday party for R to attend, as well as that being N's campout weekend. on the 20th, there's a program at R's school that Mom might attend with me. I have a doggie playdate that Sunday. We leave on the 23rd and get back on the 27th from West Chester PA. Turkey day up north should be interesting. Beau's birthday is on the 27th, turning 3 this year.
And as usual, I expect a few more things to pop up to really fill my calendar!
Since I was absent more or less during the month, I'll do a brief review. Barktoberfest was a great day at the doggie park with the dogs dressed as squirrels. We took the boys to their first high school football game. Friday night lights was fun, but the boys liked the food more than the actual game. Then I had a weekend of nonstop fun. I went out on Friday night to downtown (jazz club!), watched the Texas/OU game during the day before going to a Clint Black concert that Saturday, and that Sunday was a doggie playdate before going to a winery with the women's group. Great weekend! I survived a dentist visit and a flu shot in single afternoon, then attended a librarian's meeting the next day. Robbie had 2 birthday parties to attend that month. Late that month, I went to a new to me club to see my SRV band. Great band but wild place! We did the family thing for Halloween, before going out as adults. I was an angel, Kenzie a Cheerleader, Briana a mermaid, Robbie Wolverine, and Nate a Storm Trooper.
Busy month, but a fun month!
Obama was elected a year ago today and has now been in office for almost ten months. How do you think he is doing? What's the best thing you think he's done so far? The worst?
i didn't vote for him then, and given what he's done/not done, i wouldn't vote for him if the election was today!
Will you be giving out candy to trick or treaters this year? If so, what goodies can the ghosts and goblins expect to bring home?
Only to the kids at work! my kids will get plenty on their own!
Currently not feeling great, but this too will pass. R got in trouble at school for fighting one week, then the next week is praised for being willing to learn. N is reading a questionable book at school, but doing fine otherwise. I redecorated the kitchen/dining room area simply by changing wall art/counter top stuff. it's more rooster/mirror related than the previous things. i really like the effect. i have survived the lasted work issues as of now. i am definitely enjoying the Wedensday bible study at the church. A few birthdays are coming up in the family so the planning will start soon. And of course, there are the holidays which will be here before we know it. i've discovered a Stevie Ray Vaughan cover band that rules, so I'm semi stalking them. Work hard, play hard!
Would you prefer fame or respect? Why?
Respect any day of the week! fame is fleeting!
What’s the hardest part about looking for a new job?

keeping the hope alive....
Which NFL team are you rooting for this season? Who do you think will make it to the Super Bowl?
Da Boys of course! probably lucky if they make it to playoffs, but i'll root for them anyways. ;)
nathan is adjusting to 6th grade just fine. we went to "meet the teacher" night and i found out that a mere building can make you revert back to your 6th grade emotions. very odd. great teachers! robbie loves his "kindergarten" clothes as he puts it, aka the school uniform.
i'm floating. i get so freaking bored during the daytime from 9 am to 6 pm, on the days i am not working. i hate housework. i am limited on running errands, but can do some of them. i could workout, but have zero desire right now. so i decided to put myself on a schedule this week and to go to a bible study group at my church. the schedule works until about noon and then i rebel and end up obessing online with my iPod touch. the bible study group was okay. i'll likely go back next week. any suggestions on how to keep busy other than the dreaded "you could volunteer at your kids' school"? yeah, no one else has a suggestion either. so thus i float until i figure it out. sigh. this will be a very interesting school year to be sure.
How are you spending this Labor Day? Bonus points if you show us pictures.
hanging out with family! we'll grill up some hot dogs later for dinner.
I didn't vote for him either, and wouldn't vote for him now. He is really making a mess! read more
