a year ago, i was on 10 medicines, most of them daily, and my migraines were 20 days apart. i went on a reducing medicine campaign. they are now 32 days apart and i'm only on 5 medicines, one of them not daily. my medicine costs were approximately $140 a month a year ago. I'm down to $55. do i think that it will get less meds? maybe or maybe i'll always be on a maintenance plan of sorts. that is yet to be decided. i might reduce the power of a medicine to the lowest level possible and call it good. i do hope the migraines get farther apart. considering that in 2008, i had 4 or 3 or 2 migraines most months, with only one month of one. in 2009, i had one month with 2 migraines and the rest with only one. oh and last month i didn't have one at all! i am calling this year a miracle year for my health.
i bought healthier foods for the house. i also went jogging for the first time in about a month and a half this morning. yes i'm out of shape. LMAO i won't go whole hog on my health kick at one time or i'll burn out quickly. so this week it's just jogging and eating less carbs, as in one serving of bread per meal. another rule coming up, drink more water. and also, only one "cheat" meal a day. and finally, no calories after 10 pm except for one cheat day. i need simple rules. no counting calories or points. of course all this may change when i start the health class in January. but i figure less carbs means more veggies and fruit. and exercising daily doesn't hurt anyone!
oh the official weight for starting: 178 lbs. yep i gained it all back. all my hard work for the year is gone, plus some is added. that's horrible. 23 lbs to go! and go it will!
White lights or colored lights? Blinking or non-blinking? Bonus points if you show us a photo of the lights you used to decorate for the holidays.
both and non blinking!
If you could kiss anyone under the mistletoe, who would it be?
hubby...then my dogs...LOL
Starting in January, I'll be attending a health class via work. So i'll be using this blog to deal with that, probably with weekly posts and some pictures if i'm brave. will i still post family news and pictures when i remember to? sure. but i need to focus on this 20 lbs that need to go away.
New Moon broke The Dark Knight's single day box office record. Are you planning on seeing this teenage vampire love story? If so: Team Edward or Team Jacob?
Team Jacob all the way! I'll wait till dvd though, like last time.
What's the oldest article of clothing you own? Bonus points if you show us a photo!
Not that I wear it, but I kept my first training bra. It's funny to look at nowadays!
Briana's party is the 6th. On the 8th, there is yet another birthday party for R to attend, then I'm going to dinner/movie with the women's group. the following weekend, the greek festival is happening which means a yummy meal, and another bday party for R to attend, as well as that being N's campout weekend. on the 20th, there's a program at R's school that Mom might attend with me. I have a doggie playdate that Sunday. We leave on the 23rd and get back on the 27th from West Chester PA. Turkey day up north should be interesting. Beau's birthday is on the 27th, turning 3 this year.
And as usual, I expect a few more things to pop up to really fill my calendar!
Since I was absent more or less during the month, I'll do a brief review. Barktoberfest was a great day at the doggie park with the dogs dressed as squirrels. We took the boys to their first high school football game. Friday night lights was fun, but the boys liked the food more than the actual game. Then I had a weekend of nonstop fun. I went out on Friday night to downtown (jazz club!), watched the Texas/OU game during the day before going to a Clint Black concert that Saturday, and that Sunday was a doggie playdate before going to a winery with the women's group. Great weekend! I survived a dentist visit and a flu shot in single afternoon, then attended a librarian's meeting the next day. Robbie had 2 birthday parties to attend that month. Late that month, I went to a new to me club to see my SRV band. Great band but wild place! We did the family thing for Halloween, before going out as adults. I was an angel, Kenzie a Cheerleader, Briana a mermaid, Robbie Wolverine, and Nate a Storm Trooper.
Busy month, but a fun month!
Obama was elected a year ago today and has now been in office for almost ten months. How do you think he is doing? What's the best thing you think he's done so far? The worst?
i didn't vote for him then, and given what he's done/not done, i wouldn't vote for him if the election was today!
I didn't vote for him either, and wouldn't vote for him now. He is really making a mess! read more
